Penumbra
If you've got something original to say and a fresh way of saying it, we want to hear from you. What we're after: 1. short stories (up to 2,500 words) 2. poetry 3. reviews (books, theatre, music; between 500—1,500 words). If you wish to review for us, please send us a sample of your work and a shortlist of authors/works that you are particularly interested in. We will allocate reviews on this basis, according to new releases. Please note that we are only interested in reviews of books published in the last year. How to get it to us: For our postal address, please contact us by email. Please note that we do not return manuscripts. As Penumbra is unfunded and non-profit making, we regret that we are unable to offer payment to authors. The editors run Penumbra voluntarily and without material reward, and we invite submissions according to this ethos. We regret that due to the large number of submissions that we receive for Penumbra, we are no longer able to reply individually to every one. If you do not hear from us, please assume that we have not been able to find a place for your work in the forthcoming issue. We do compile a shortlist however, and if we are interested in publishing your work in future we will contact you. Feel free to contact us if you wish to check the outcome of your submission.
